The Crafty B Company

I used to go door to door selling handmade potholders and bracelets at the young age of 9. I even spent $20 on business cards at a mall kiosk because I had a dream of entrepreneurship early in my life. I did not go into business, though. Perhaps it was the fear of the unknown. Education seemed like a natural path for me, following in my parents’ footsteps, as I also had a passion for teaching and leading. Perhaps it’s burnout from being a middle school principal during a pandemic or just the courage to finally go through with my dream, but now at 36 years old, married 12 years with two kids, with 15 years of education under my belt, I’ve finally decided that it’s time for me to take the leap that I’ve always been afraid to take. I’m starting my own business: The Crafty B Company – Design Consultant and Productivity Expert.

I used to redo my bedroom each year growing up and even took night classes for interior design at our local career and tech center when I was in high school. Now I love changing paint colors and decor in our home. I really enjoy decorating, but I appreciate practicality in design. I’ve created functional decor pieces for our family that have helped with our organization and productivity while adding personal touches in our home.

Being crafty is one part of my business, but having run a building as an administrator for seven years and my own high school classroom for eight years while being a wife and mama have really caused me to master the art of productivity. These experiences have helped me greatly in understanding time and task management. From digital files to paperwork to schedules, I have worked hard over the years to run our household and my job smoothly through functionality and organization. My husband works a job with more irregular hours than regular, so we’ve always had to collaborate and use teamwork (and grandparents – what would we do without them?) in order for us to get kids to activities, mouths fed, schoolwork done, snuggle our babies and each other, and still have thriving careers.

During the 2020 COVID-19 shut down, I saw more than ever that our teamwork as a husband and wife got us through some of the hardest times because we scheduled out every minute of our day to balance one of us working from home, two kids doing virtual school, and one going to work in the community during a pandemic. During one of the most stressful times of our lives, we pulled out all of our skills to be productive, have fun, and overcome. Don’t misunderstand me. My husband and I have had MANY trials and errors with productivity and organization. Our house is definitely not perfect, but we learn from failures and fix the issues to make things better. More than ever, we had to take these learned lessons and be creative with organization because all of life’s activities were happening under one roof. As we were having fun participating in our own family-created Corona Olympics, I saw more and more families struggling with managing time, messy homes, and relationships.

This sparked something in me, and I felt the need to fan the flame to see the potential fire that could erupt. Hence, The Crafty B Company was born. You don’t have to figure out the chaos of life yourself. This business offers a judge-free opportunity to get help with family schedules, work spaces, and home organization. There’s a stigma that we have to do it all ourselves, but why? Maybe it’s not the stress of disorganization at home but the lack of time with friends. We’ve got that covered. Schedule a “Design with Wine” party for an evening out that produces an amazing end product. Need family time? Purchase one of our at-home kits to bring everyone together to complete a fun project. Just looking for personalized items for your home or help planning a birthday party? We’ll take care of it. The Crafty B Company is here to help make your dream or vision boards come to life.
